Virginia, Florida organic herb growers form partnership


thepacker.com; By Vicky Boyd: Sunfest Organic Herbs, Okeechobee, Fla., has entered into an exclusive partnership with Harrisonburg, Va.-based Shenandoah Growers to supply it with fresh-cut organic herbs.

Sunfest brings to the table production from 380 acres of certified organic farmland and 7 acres of greenhouses, according to a news release.

Together with production from Virginia, the Sunfest arrangement should supply most of Shenandoah Grower’s Eastern Midwestern and Southern U.S. markets with fresh-cut herbs.

Altogether, Shenandoah Growers supplies more than 4,000 grocery stores nationwide with fresh-cut and living organic herbs, according to the release.
