starherald.net; by Nancy Green KOSCIUSKO — Kosciusko and area residents will not have to wait until June or July to be able to have a juicy, Attala County grown, vine ripened tomato for the dinner table.
Erin Biggers Sembiring is now harvesting 400 to 450 pounds of tomatoes each week from her greenhouse and offering them for sale locally.
The greenhouse, located on the farm of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Biggers in the Springdale Community, is filled with 400 plants which were set out the end of November. With proper, heat, light, and fertilizer she nurtured the plants through their growing season to the beginning of harvest which began in early April. She said the vines will produce until June. In August, she said she will begin the process again to ensure the fresh, vine ripened fruit in December and January.
