WATER SAVINGS AND IMPROVEMENTS IN FERTILIZATION EFFICIENCY
The water supplied to the crop that has not been absorbed is collected
through the drainage system and taken to the recirculation tank, where
fresh water is also added. From this tank the water is pumped again to the
crop, but only after adjusting the pH and EC levels automatically on the
fertilization rig.
By re-circulating water, on what is known as closed systems, a
significant amount of water is saved as there are no losses due to lost
drainage or run off. There is also an important saving in fertilizer as the
nutrients that are not absorbed will be given to the plant again.
A small percentage of the irrigation water needs to be flushed out of
the system periodically to avoid the build up of salts in the system.
Following the right procedures, like using this remaining water for irrigation
of pasture or non intensive crops the efficiency of water and fertilizer can get close to 100%.
REUSING THE MULTILAYER TROUGH
The multi-band is designed to be reused once removed crop. This can reduce the time needed to complete the between harvesting and replanting process.
Once the crop is harvested and removed the root systems are ready for planting.
Disinfection after the crop is not necessary. For crops requiring the highest level of hygiene can be given an application hypochlorite or hydrogen peroxide diluted by the irrigation system. These products can be left in the system to disappear naturally and not threaten the environment.
Once the multi-band finishes its useful way, the plastic can be recycling.
